Storyline: The Palestinian death toll has surpassed 51,300 in Gaza from the Israeli military assaults over 18 months, Gaza-based health authorities said on Thursday. In the past 24 hours, Israeli bombardments have claimed the lives of 50 Palestinians and injured 152 others, bringing the total fatalities since October 2023 to 51,355, with 117,248 more injured, according to the health authorities in a press statement. The statement also noted that at least 1,978 Palestinians have been killed and 5,207 others injured since Israel resumed its intensive strikes on March 18, following the collapse of a two-month ceasefire.
