VEHICLES LONDON, UK - APR. 24, 2025: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the Prime Minister's Office on 10 Downing Street, in London on Thursday (Apr. 24) The two will discuss EU-UK cooperation on global issues, bilateral relations and the upcoming first-ever EU-UK Summit, currently scheduled for May this year, according to an EU statement. It is being suggested that a defense agreement could be signed at the May 19 summit in London. The meeting comes amid post-Brexit efforts to bring the UK and the EU closer continue. The UK, despite its divorce from the bloc, is sharing defense, security and foreign interests with the member countries and it is in close cooperation with them.
