A harbour angler loses his rod and hails a passing small boat to help retrieve it. The boatman, with plans for a day's angling diverts to give help. The good-natured action backfires when the retrieved rod's fishing line ensnares the outboard motor, Only able to maneuver in reverse, the small boat ships a dangerous amount of water. Furiously bailing, the boatman eventually manages to return to the Harbour steps. The angler, eager to help, sets about cutting the tangled line, but with difficulty. Eventually the snared propeller is freed. The moral it would seem being "No good deed goes unpunished." Our good boatman is still removing some of the Ocean from his craft.
