Los Angeles, United States - April 25, 2025 04/25/2025 01:08 am (GMT-0700) WESTCHESTER, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Firefighters and police responded to a vehicle versus building incident early Friday morning at a bookstore on La Tijera Boulevard. The Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department arrived to find a dark-colored sedan engulfed in flames in the parking lot. Investigators determined that the vehicle had struck "The Book Jewel." A male driver was present at the scene but was uninjured. A witness described how the driver initially crashed into the bookstore before reversing into the parking lot, where the car subsequently caught fire. The witness stayed with the driver to provide comfort until officers arrived. The man appeared disoriented, leading to suspicions that he was possibly under the influence of alcohol. At this time, he has not been taken into custody, and it remains unclear if traffic units were requested to conduct a DUI investigation.
