The Palestinian death toll in Gaza has risen to 51,439 after 18 months of Israeli military assaults, Gaza-based health authorities said on Friday. The total number of injuries has climbed to 117,416, according to a press statement from the health authorities. In the past 24 hours, Israeli bombardments have claimed the lives of 84 Palestinians and injured 168 others, according to the statement. Since Israel resumed intensive strikes on March 18, following the collapse of a two-month ceasefire, at least 2,062 Palestinians have been killed and 5,375 others injured, the statement added.
