-DEIR AL-BALAH, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - APR. 26, 2025: At least 31 Palestinians were killed and several others wounded in the latest Israeli airstrikes across Gaza on Saturday, April 26, sources and officials said. Four Palestinians were killed in an airstrike that targeted them in the town of Al-Zawaida in the central Gaza Strip, medical sources said. A separate airstrike targeted a cafe in the city of Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, also killing four Palestinians, according to a medical source. Another air raid targeted a gathering of civilians northwest of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing one Palestinian, according to a statement from Al-Awda Hospital. According to medical sources, 10 of the victims were killed when an airstrike hit a home belonging to the al-Khourfamily in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City. Witnesses said the house was bombed while residents were inside. The Civil Defense said many individuals remain buried under the rubble, and search and rescue operations had been initiated. Meanwhile, three Palestinians were killed and others wounded early morning when a home in the Al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City was targeted. In the southern Gaza Strip, an airstrike targeted a gathering of civilians near Kuwait Hospital in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, killing three Palestinians, according to medical sources. Another airstrike hit the Abu Mazid family's home in Al-Zawayda town in central Gaza, killing two. In the northern Gaza Strip, a medical source confirmed that two Palestinians were killed in a strike near the Education Roundabout in Beit Lahia, and many others got injured. Two were killed in separate strikes in the Izbat Beit Hanoun area in northern Gaza and another in Al-Shujaiya neighborhood, eastern Gaza City. Israel has killed nearly 51,500 Palestinians in Gaza since a cross-border attack by Hamas in October 2023. The UN has warned that the entire Gaza Strip, with a population of more than 2 million people, may be on the brink of famine and aid kitchens are expected to fully run out of food in the coming days. Israel’s blockade since March 2 means no food, fuel or medicine has entered Gaza for two months.
