The protesters carried photos of Israeli hostages and Israeli flags marched towards Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence on Jaffa Street. During the protest they chanted slogans against Netanyahu and his government, demanding the continuation of the prisoner exchange process between Hamas and Israel, and an end to the war in the Gaza Strip The Israeli army resumed its assault on Gaza on March 18, shattering a Jan. 19 ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. Israel has killed nearly 51,500 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The UN has warned that the entire Gaza Strip, home to over 2 million people, could soon face famine as aid kitchens are expected to fully run out of food.
