Despite the chill in the air and questionable forecast, minutes before start time there were 197 confirmed runners for the first-ever Moosehead Marathon. Race Director Holland Rockwell said she was feeling “amazing” ahead of the race. Indeed, the excitement in the air was palpable, aided by DJ Nicole Jennison and even a bounce house for the kids. Runners came from as far as Canada, North Carolina, and even Florida for the race.

Greenville, Maine, with a population of just 1,600, typically experiences a quiet "mud season" in April. Moosehead Lake still has ice, and today’s weather brought rain and a chilly 38°. We are so proud of these brave participants who brought energy, determination, and spirit to our region!
