BEIRUT, LEBANON - APRIL 27, 2025: Israeli warplanes targeted a building in Al-Hadath neighborhood in southern Beirut on Sunday, April 27, following an earlier warning for residents to evacuate the area. The Israeli army claimed that the targeted building was linked to Hezbollah, according to a statement by army spokesperson Avichay Adraee. Prior to the strike, Israeli forces reportedly fired warning shots and small rockets via drones to prompt evacuations in the threatened area. This latest airstrike follows a pattern of escalating violations of the ceasefire agreement signed between Israel and Lebanon in November 2024. A fragile ceasefire has been in place in Lebanon since November, ending months of cross-border warfare between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah, which escalated into a full-scale conflict in September. Lebanese authorities have reported more than 2,764 Israeli violations of the truce, including the deaths of at least 194 victims and injuries to 485 others. Under the ceasefire deal, Israel was supposed to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by Jan. 26, but the deadline was extended to Feb. 18 after Israel refused to comply. It still maintains a military presence at five border outposts. Reporting by Mahmut Geldi / Writing by Aleyna Cil
