Phoenix, United States - April 27, 2025 04/27/2025 12:41 am (GMT-0700) PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix police and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a person shot near 1st Street and McKinley Street in Downtown Phoenix at approximately 12:40 a.m. Officers arrived to find a victim with a gunshot wound to the head. Several additional Phoenix police patrol units, as well as Arizona State University Police officers, responded to assist with securing the scene and crowd control. Once the scene was deemed secure, Phoenix fire crews responded and began rendering aid to the victim. The victim was transported to a local trauma center in extremely critical condition with CPR in progress. Phoenix police established a large crime scene, resulting in the closure of McKinley Street between 1st Street and 2nd Street. The Phoenix Police Department's Homicide detectives responded to the scene and have assumed command of the investigation.
