A Chinese tourist was arrested at an airport after allegedly killing a transgender prostitute who refused to have sex - before ripping out her heart in a Jack the Ripper style murder.

Fu Tongyung, 42, was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 26 at 2.30pm while waiting for a flight to Wuhan, China, departing at 3.15pm.

It came after Woranan Pannacha, 25, was found butchered in room 201 on the second floor of an apartment in Pattaya.

They found her body in the bathroom, with her stomach cut open, and her silicone breast implants and heart removed.

Nearby, they also found a large bag for clothes, along with scissors and other equipment.

Wu took Woranan into his room at 10.15pm on Friday night, April 25. Other residents heard their loud argument around 2am, which quieted down an hour later.

No one went inside until the landlord received a report from neighbours in the morning and checked the room, where they found her body.

Investigators discovered that Wu left the apartment at 7.50am alone and took a motorcycle taxi to a bus terminal heading to Bangkok, which led to his arrest at the airport.

Wu was transported back to Pattaya City Police Station around 9.55pm before being taken to the scene for reenactment the next day.

The reenactment started when the suspect brought the victim to the room before negotiating and agreeing to pay 8,000 baht (178.76 GBP) for sex.

Police Major General Thawatkiat Jindakuansanong, commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, said: 'At first, the suspect remained silent and refused to testify until he surrendered to the evidence after we found the victim's phone with him.

‘He admitted that he committed murder after the victim refused to have intercourse and kicked him in the face, causing his tooth to fall out and making him angry.

‘He pressed his knee to her throat until she lost her breath before dragging her body into a bathroom.

‘He watched a lot of series and was interested in how the inside of a corpse looked, so he cut through her stomach to her chest with scissors.

‘The suspect was a welder, so he had quite a strong wrist and was able to cut the body in a straight line before taking out her breast implants and heart.'

He was also taken to three other locations for reenactment, including a grocery shop around near the scene, a bus terminal, and a beach near the Walking Street entrance, where he met the victim for the first time before exchanging contact information on the WeChat application.

Wu was charged with murder and theft and remanded in custody.
