A suitcase burst into flames after a power bank inside exploded at airport security.

CCTV footage shows the grey piece of hand luggage on a counter when it suddenly emitted white smoke, followed by a blaze spewing from the bag.

Upon noticing the fire, a worker quickly used a fire extinguisher to douse the flames on April 23 at the Tallinn International Airport in Estonia.

Airport management reported that the power bank exploded at check-in, before reaching the aircraft, and not during the flight.

They said: 'This is a clear example of why power banks should not be packed in checked luggage. Imagine if an explosion like that had occurred during a flight in the aircraft's cargo hold, where no one could respond quickly to a fire.'

No one was reportedly injured in the incident.
