Magpie steals student's ID card in China
This is the hilarious moment a magpie stole a student's ID card in China.
Footage captured by Mr Yang shows the mischievous black bird snatching the student pass from the owner's hand in Haerbin, Heilongjiang.
After grabbing the item, it briefly stood still, dodging the man's attempts to retrieve it on December 21.
Moments later, the feathered thief flew away with the stolen card, prompting onlookers to shout in shock.
In another clip, the same bird was seen perched on the pavement, as the group humorously 'interrogated' it, asking where the missing identification card had gone.
The filmer said they tried searching for the school ID but were unable to find it.
Magpies are highly intelligent birds known for mimicking sounds, using tools, playing games, working in teams, and showing self-awareness. They are also sociable, curious, and friendly creatures.
