This is the shocking moment a woman on a scooter is knocked off her seat and falls unconscious when a brick comes flying out of nowhere and hits her on the head.

Street surveillance footage shows the victim riding past a house under construction in Jiexi County, Guangdong Province, China, on April 14.

Suddenly, a falling block strikes her, and she tumbles off the vehicle. The scooter then crashes into a parked car, and the woman collapses onto the street, seemingly unconscious.

Earlier, a male pedestrian can be seen walking directly under where the brick landed, narrowly escaping the same fate.

Pictures taken shortly after the incident show a paramedic treating the victim, who appears to be bleeding on the road.

The victim was rushed to the hospital, and reports from April 20 confirmed she is recovering well.

City officials said the safety net installed around the house helped prevent a more serious injury or fatality. They vowed to strengthen and increase inspections at construction sites to ensure public safety.

Police are investigating the incident.
