A flying drone car named 'Hexa' was showcased at the Osaka Expo in Japan.

Astonishing footage shows the single-seater vehicle soaring through the skies during the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka on April 14.

However, recent reports revealed that demonstrations of the highly anticipated 'flying car' were suspended following an incident on Saturday, April 26, when components of the aircraft detached mid-air during a flight.

Parts of the Hexa, including two covers from one of its 18 propeller motors, fell to the ground during the demonstration. The malfunction reportedly occurred in one of the upper motors of the 4.5-metre-long, 2.4-metre-high vehicle.

Despite the incident, the drone car landed safely, and the pilot was unharmed.

Operations will remain suspended until the car's safety can be fully assured.

The Osaka expo opened to the public on April 13 and will run through October 13.
