A bungling scooter rider carelessly swerved across a road and clipped another motorcycle.

The motorist, who was not wearing a helmet, can be seen repeatedly changing lanes without signalling, causing an accident in Bangkok, Thailand.

Dashcam footage shows the rule breaker weaving dangerously through traffic without safety gear on October 5.

The reckless driver kept moving left and right before cutting in front of another two-wheeler, which rear-ended him.

They both crashed on the ground, and other road users climbed out of their cars to assist.

Driver Worayut Timkham, who was behind them, said: 'The long-haired young man swerved and caused a crash as seen in my car's video.'

Despite being one of the wealthiest countries in Asia, Thailand suffers from chronic underinvestment in its highways and education, contributing to its poor road safety levels. Only a handful of African countries are worse.

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
