Buddhist monks prayed for the victims of the Kashmir terror attack.

Footage shows worshippers gathered at the Mahabodhi Mahavira Temple in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India, on April 25, holding candles as they paid tribute to those who lost their lives.

Officials confirmed that at least 26 people were killed and more than 20 others injured on Tuesday attack. The shots reportedly targeted a group of tourists visiting the well-known hill station.

Authorities said the casualties included two foreign nationals and two locals. This marks the deadliest civilian-targeted attack in the region since the 2019 Pulwama bombing.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow group of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. Intelligence sources suggest the assailants may have crossed over from Kishtwar via Kokernag to execute the planned strike.

The Prime Minister delivered a strong message to terrorists during an event in Bihar on Thursday, April 24.

PM Nodi said: 'From the soil of Bihar, I am telling the world that India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist and their backers. Every effort will be made to ensure that justice is done. The entire nation is firm in this resolve. Everyone who believes in humanity is with us.'

He continued: 'I thank the people of various countries and their leaders who have stood with us in these times. These terrorists and those who conspired towards this attack will get a punishment bigger than they can imagine.'

The incident occurred during the visit of US Vice President JD Vance to India, who described it as a 'devastating terrorist attack'.

Vance said: 'Usha and I extend our condolences to the victims of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India. Over the past few days, we have been overcome with the beauty of this country and its people. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this horrific attack.'

Security forces have launched an extensive search operation to apprehend the attackers.

India has already announced the closure of the border with Pakistan, the downgrading of diplomatic ties, and the suspension of a key water-sharing treaty.

India's Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, announced on Tuesday evening that no Pakistani nationals would be allowed entry under a special visa program and instructed those holding such visas in India to leave within 48 hours.
