Israel - April 29, 2025 The "Runners in Their Memory" race took place in several IDF units in preparation for Memorial Day. The run is a unique tradition to commemorate those who fell in the line of duty over the years. Over 800 soldiers, staff soldiers, and reservists participated in the "Yahlam" unit's run, taking part in sections of various lengths. This is the first time the unit has held the race as the start of a tradition in memory of the fallen. In the run in memory of the fallen of the "Agoz" unit, over 250 soldiers and unit staff members participated, starting the run at the unit's base and running along a course of approximately 9 km, as unit number 6-2-1 at an increasing pace according to the division. The "Duvdevan" unit held a "Navigations in Memory" event for the unit's fallen, in which all of its service members took part. The navigations took place in several different sections, during which each unit commemorated a number of fallen soldiers, created value-based discussion circles around them, and told their stories. Over 100 soldiers and combat supporters participated in the "Meitar" unit's run, starting at the Ramat Gan Stadium along a 5-kilometer course. Each soldier who ran in the race chose a space to run to commemorate. In addition, at the end of the run, discussion circles were held to commemorate the fallen.
