A Hungarian tourist was attacked by angry ladyboys allegedly over a bar bill dispute in Thailand.

Imre Vig, 53, reportedly hired transgender women to accompany him for drinks at a club in 'Sin City' Pattaya.

He was said to have splurged on cannabis and cocktails as he enjoyed a night out in the depraved tourist town, staying at the bar until closing time.

However, when handed the bill, he allegedly claimed he could not pay the 1,570 baht (35 GBP) charge.

Furious transgender prostitutes - still with the physical strength of men despite their feminine appearance - surrounded the Hungarian, beating him until the manager intervened.

Footage shows the injured holidaymaker sitting in front of a row of ATMs as he appeared dazed from the alleged attack.

He said: 'I have my Revolut card on my phone. More than enough to cover the bill, and the hotel, and the condominiums, and the girls and everything.

'I'm here for a little bit of investing and a little bit of fun. But this night has been a disaster to be honest with you. I love it, it's a great city, but then everything turns upside down. It's great until it isn't.'

Police arrived at the scene after being notified of the brawl at 12:16 am on April 30. They found Imre bleeding as he nursed a lacerated ear and scrapes on his knees.

Police Captain Chaowalit Suwanmanee, deputy chief of the Pattaya City Police Station, said: 'After Mr Imre Vig received medical treatment, the police officers escorted him to the investigator for negotiations with the bar owner. He claimed he had tried to pay but had issues with his phone.

'Regarding the assault, if he chooses to press charges, an investigation team will be dispatched to the scene to gather evidence and proceed with legal action accordingly.'

Former fishing village Pattaya became popular with American troops on 'rest and relaxation' breaks in the 1950s and 1960s when the U.S. military had bases in Thailand while fighting Communism in Vietnam. Rural families are said to have even dressed their sons as women to cash in on the gold rush.

The handful of bars in the coastal town quickly grew and it is now the world's biggest sex holiday destination, with round-the-clock prostitution and drugs - a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah rife with crime and debauchery.

Government chiefs have attempted to clean up the city but regular violence, depravity and claims of corruption continue to blight its reputation.
