Female tourist, 32, finds pervert hiding under her hotel bed in Japan
A tourist was horrified when she found a pervert hiding under her bed in a hotel in Japan.
Nataliia Khomenko, 32, from Ukraine, was winding down at the APA Hotel and Resort Ryogoku Eki Tower after a day of sightseeing in Tokyo when she noticed a 'weird smell' permeating her room on March 30.
She walked around trying to detect the source of the strange odour, which grew stronger as she neared her bed. She then leaned over to check underneath - only to see 'an Asian man' staring right at her.
Nataliia screamed at the top of her lungs as the intruder also yelled before bolting out of her room.
Hotel staff later arrived and called the police for an investigation.
The influencer, who runs a fashion brand called 'Skinz' in Ukraine, said: 'On the first day, everything was fine. The next day, after a day of sightseeing, I came back around 7:30 pm, unlocked my room like usual, took off my clothes, lied down on the bed. And then, I noticed a weird smell.
'At first, I thought it was coming from my hair or the bed sheets, but then I realised it was coming from under the bed. Jokingly, I thought, what if there was a dead person lying under the bed? But when I leaned over to check, I saw a pair of my eyes staring at me.'
She claimed police found a USB cable and power bank under the bed, but were unable to identify the alleged invader as there was no footage of him.
Nataliia booked a stay at another hotel following the sinister discovery, which she said left her paranoid.
In a statement, APA hotel staff said they have agreed to refund Nataliia 510 USD for her four-day booking.
However, they refused to compensate her 1,600 USD for emotional damages after she claimed she was 'constantly on edge and unable to sleep' after the encounter.
The tourist said: 'Now, I'm left wondering how someone could get into my room, how someone knew that I'm alone in that room, and how the hotel can't take responsibility for such a severe breach of safety.
'I want this story to be well-known so that APA Hotel can take action and travellers are more aware.'
