The world's largest gathering of monks using singing bowls took place in India.

There were 375 followers from various monasteries gathered in Bodh Gaya to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest Singing Bowl Ensemble by Buddhist monks.

Footage shows devotees aged five to 70 assembled at the Mahabodhi Temple on Saturday, April 26, for the event.

The worshippers played in harmony to the Buddha Mantra, surpassing the previous record held by 100 lamas.

Simultaneously, Bihar also set a record for the largest Madhubani painting.

The artwork, covering 201.17 sqft, was created by a team of 50 women artists from Mithila Chitrakala Sansthan, led by Padma Shri awardee Baua Devi.

The organisers said the event was held as a tribute to Bihar's identity as the 'Land of Enlightenment' and its deep historical connection to multiple religions.

Guinness World Records is a global authority that documents and certifies extraordinary achievements and milestones. It recognizes a wide range of human accomplishments, natural wonders, and unique feats from around the world and often becomes the standard for setting and breaking records.
