VARIOUS OF PALESTINIANS VISITING, MOURNING NEAR GRAVES OF THEIR LOVED ONES KHAN YOUNIS, PALESTINE - MARCH 30, 2025: On the first day of Eid al-Fitr, Sunday March 30, many Gazans visited the graves of their loved ones, who were killed in Israeli attacks. Footage shows some of the families visiting the cemetery in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City, where they prayed and placed flowers on the graves, marking a somber holiday instead of a joyful celebration. Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al-Fitr with prayers, festive meals, and family gatherings, marking the conclusion of Ramadan’s month-long fast from dawn to dusk. However, in the blockaded enclave, the occasion is observed under the shadow of ongoing violence and a worsening humanitarian crisis. The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on Gaza on March 18, killing more than 920 victims, injuring over 2,000, and shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. More than 50,200 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 114,000 injured in a brutal Israeli military onslaught on Gaza since October 2023. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave. Reporting by Abed Rahim Khatib // Writing by Mustafa Tuncer
