VARIOUS OF VEHICLES CARRYING ILL AND INJURED PALESTINIANS ON BOARD MOVING RAFAH, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - MAR. 27: A total of 200 injured and ill Palestinians were evacuated from the Gaza Strip through the Karem Abu Salem crossing at Rafah on Thursday, Mar. 27. The evacuation was carried out in a coordinated effort by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations (UN). The patients and their companions were transported out of the enclave by buses and ambulances for treatment outside Gaza. The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, killing 855 people and injuring nearly 1,900 others despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
