On the final day of Songkran, the country’s legendary New Year festival celebrated with splashing water to wash away negativity and welcome good luck for the year ahead, a group of travelers got the surprise of a lifetime.

While making their way to the hotel, dressed in regular clothes, the unsuspecting group found themselves immersed in the spirited tradition on Koh Samet, as locals greeted them with buckets of water and spray gun ambushes.
