Mooresville, United States - April 26, 2025 The Mooresville Police Department has released bodycam footage that shows the moments just before a suspect fleeing law enforcement. The officer, identified Tuesday as Ofc. Chase Pitcock, was treated at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for minor injuries. Just before 7 p.m. Saturday, Mooresville officers were at State Road 67 and Sunset Lane in Mooresville assisting with a pursuit involving Monroe County sheriff’s deputies and a black Dodge Charger. In the video, Pitcock is seen standing just past the intersection preparing to deploy a stop strip. The Charger appears in the left of the frame, speeding northbound on S.R. 67 with police cars in tow. Just as Pitcock deploys the deflation device, the Charger quickly turns right, moving out a police SUV and into the officer’s path. Pitcock dodges, falling to the ground as the Charger continues racing on Sunset Lane. Pitcock quickly stands and moves back to the SUV. He is heard on camera saying, “(They) got my ankle.” Pitcock was taken to a hospital for treatment. The police pursuit continued, eventually stopping in Camby due to the danger the pursuit posed. Morgan County deputies later spotted the Charger and another chase ensued. Mooresville Police Chief Kerry Buckner told News 8 the suspect was still on the run as of Tuesday.
