Police destroyed millions of dollars worth of cocaine in Honduras following multiple drug seizures.

The National Anti-Drug Police Directorate (DNPA), in coordination with the Public Ministry (MP), incinerated large quantities of suspected narcotics at Military Police facilities.

Authorities confirmed the burning of 786 packages of cocaine hydrochloride, seized on April 6 in the department of Cortes.

The alleged drugs were hidden inside a truck and a pickup vehicle and were valued at over 200 million lempiras or more than 7.6 million USD.

Additionally, 417 packages of marijuana, worth over one million lempiras (38,000 USD), were also destroyed. They had been confiscated during an anti-drug operation in Lepaguare, Olancho.

Several government representatives were present to oversee the process and ensure proper handling of the narcotics.

The DNPA reported seizing a total of 1,313 kilos of cocaine and 810 pounds of marijuana in the first few months of the year.
