TMSBK Bukittinggi Zoo Veterinarian, Yoli Zulfanedi said, Banun's birth process had some obstacles.

Banun's birth could be the answer to the decreasing population of Sumatran tigers

According to data from the Global sPESIMENT management Plant, the birth of Sumatran tigers with the Latin name Panthera tigris sumatrae in conservation centers has decreased. This is due to many factors. Among other things, the mother is starting to age, so the population of Sumatran tigers in conservation centers has currently decreased from 122 to 86.

Until now, Banun is still given milk twice a day, morning and evening. The mother only wants to breastfeed her child for a week since birth.

Sumatran tigers are on the verge of extinction. His birth in the Bukittinggi Wildlife Park is a hope that his population can continue to be maintained.
