Israel - May 01, 2025 IDF forces continue to operate in the hot spots where the fires broke out. Starting yesterday, forces from the Rescue Brigade and the Jerusalem and Central District, along with about 50 fire engines from the Home Front Command and the Technology and Logistics Division, rushed to the fire sites alongside firefighting teams sent to the fire area in the Jerusalem Hills. Throughout the night, dozens of firefighting vehicles (engineering mechanical equipment) began operating across the country, creating fire lanes to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas. In addition, the IDF provided water tankers with approximately 300,000 liters of water, equipment, and food for the teams working. The Air Force continues to assist in firefighting efforts. Firefighting teams and fire engines of the force are working in parallel with the 'Shimshon' aircraft, which operated throughout the night and dropped more than 95 fire-fighting charges in an effort to extinguish the fires. The Air Force Intelligence Unit established a special collection team that investigated the fire sites and worked collaboratively to assist in locating fire sites and directing firefighting efforts.
