This is the funny moment a man attempted to jump across a shallow but wide trench — but ended up taking a tumble.

Costa Haughian, 24, was out filming in Portrush, Northern Ireland, on Easter Sunday when his friend Ben Matthews, 21, decided to attempt the jump.

Ben had successfully made the leap last year - when the trench was narrower - and wanted a re-do of it.

A hilarious video shows Ben confidently running towards the trench and leaping across, only to make it just over halfway.

To top it all off, Ben ended up taking a tumble and made it to the other side on all fours.

Costa, an entertainer and farmer from Newcastle, Northern Ireland, said: "We were all just crying with laughter when he fell."

"We all sort of knew he wasn't going to make it because it was so much wider than when he tried last year."

"Ben estimated it looked about 12 to 14 feet wide, so pretty up there."

"But we knew it would be funny to watch, and Ben is always up for anything, so we encouraged him to give it his all."

"I was impressed at how far he got, but his fall and multiple rolls afterwards were just so funny!"
