US, Phoenix: Avondale Pedestrian Struck by Hit and Run Driver
Phoenix, United States - May 01, 2025 04/30/2025 10:30 pm GMT-0700 AVONDALE, Ariz. – Avondale police and Avondale Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Avondale Boulevard and MC85. According to preliminary information gathered at the scene, officers arrived to find a pedestrian in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition. Avondale police have confirmed that the driver who struck the pedestrian did not remain at the scene. Avondale PD established a hard closure for MC85 (Buckeye Road) stretching between Avondale Boulevard and 113th Avenue. The closure remained in place for several hours while officers investigated the collision.
