Furious passengers shout at airport ground staff over four-hour delay
Furious passengers shouted at airport ground staff over a four-hour delay.
Disgruntled travellers were left stranded as a flight bound for Bangkok was postponed at Udon Thani International Airport on April 30.
Footage shows an infuriated woman confronting the ground crew stationed at the gate, while other flyers seated in the lobby watch the commotion.
Local media reported that Flight SL 611 was delayed due to severe rainfall in Bangkok.
Thai Lion Air provided each passenger with a bottle of water and two snack boxes during the wait.
Miss Thipsukhon, who filmed the incident, said: 'The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 6:50 PM, but it was delayed four times, first to 7:40 PM, then to 8:40 PM, then 9:40 PM, and finally to 10:40 PM.
'More than 200 passengers lost their patience, and the airline staff failed to clearly explain the situation. We couldn't even switch flights because this was the last one of the day.
'I had a similar experience the last time I flew with this airline. As passengers, we're reaching our limit. If this keeps happening, the company really needs to hold a meeting and find a solution.'
Passengers eventually boarded the Boeing 737 after hours of waiting and frustration. While the boarding process proceeded without further incident, many travellers remained visibly upset, with some vowing never to fly with the airline again.
Thai Lion Air's policy allows for flight delays or rescheduling when necessary for safety, operational, or commercial reasons.
