Sweden: Hundreds rally in Stockholm against Israel’s ongoing blockade and assaults in Gaza
SHOTLIST: STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN (MAY 3, 2025) (ANADOLU - ACCESS ALL) 1. VARIOUS OF PROTESTERS CARRYING PALESTINIAN FLAGS, BANNERS, CHANTING SLOGANS AND MARCHING 2. SOUNDBITE (Swedish) UNO HORN, SWEDISH ACTIVIST, SAYING: "We will continue to protest Israel every Saturday until a situation develops in favor of the Palestinian people. Israel completely closed the entry of medical aid to Palestine in recent weeks. Food aid to Palestine has also been blocked. Hundreds of doctors, ambulance drivers and nurses have been deliberately killed." “Children who are undergoing surgery have their hands and feet cut off without being given morphine, it is a frightening situation. Frankly, there is a food shortage in Palestine. The United Nations’ (UN) personnel also had to withdraw from there. Because, it is very dangerous, they have killed many UN workers. Despite this, what is frightening and strange is that governments, including the Swedish government, do not take a stance in favor of Palestine." STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - MAY 3: Hundreds of people took to the streets of Swedish capital on Saturday (May 3) to show solidarity with Palestinians and protest Israeli assaults on Gaza. Protesters gathered in Odenplan district, carried banners, chanted slogans and marched. One of the protesters Uno Horn stressed that Israel has closed the entry of medical and food aid to Palestine in recent weeks, noting hundreds of doctors, ambulance drivers and nurses have been deliberately killed. “Despite this, what is frightening and strange is that governments, including the Swedish government, do not take a stance in favor of Palestine,” he added. Nearly 52,500 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in the brutal Israeli onslaught since October 2023, most of them women and children. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
