WHITE FLASH 3. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) HOUTHI MILITARY SPOKESMAN, YAHYA SAREE SAYING: “The Missile Force of the Yemeni Armed Forces has carried out a military operation targeting an enemy military objective in the southern region of occupied Jaffa, using a ‘Palestine-2’ hypersonic ballistic missile. By the grace of Allah, the missile successfully reached its target, and the enemy's interception systems failed to counter it.” 4. WHITE FLASH 5. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) HOUTHI MILITARY SPOKESMAN, YAHYA SAREE SAYING: “The entire nation will bear the consequences of silence, betrayal, and submission. What is happening in Gaza will inevitably extend its repercussions—sooner or later—to other countries. The enemy will only grow more aggressive, expanding its occupation and aggression. Acting today to support Gaza, which is defending everyone, is better than waiting for the danger to reach every capital.” 6. WHITE FLASH 7. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) HOUTHI MILITARY SPOKESMAN, YAHYA SAREE SAYING: “The Yemeni Armed Forces will continue their support and assistance to the oppressed Palestinian people until the aggression on Gaza ceases and the siege is lifted.” SANAA, YEMEN (MAY 3, 2025) (USERS MUST CREDIT "HOUTHI PRESS OFFICE" HANDOUT, MUST NOT OBSCURE LOGO -EDITORIAL USE ONLY) - Yemen’s Houthi group announced on Saturday, May 3, that it had launched a hypersonic ballistic missile at a military target in central Israel, marking what it described as a successful strike that bypassed Israeli air defenses. In a televised statement, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the attack was carried out in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, accusing Israel of committing "genocide" with U.S. support. The missile, identified as the “Palestine-2”, reportedly targeted an Israeli military site near the southern area of occupied Jaffa. "The enemy's interception systems failed to counter it," Saree claimed, warning that the consequences of the war in Gaza would eventually spread across the region. However, the Israeli military stated that it had intercepted a missile fired from Yemen on Saturday, following two similar incidents the previous day. No casualties or damage were reported. The incident comes roughly six weeks after the US military launched a campaign targeting Houthi positions in the country. On Wednesday, the group claimed that the US had conducted 1,300 airstrikes and naval bombardments on Yemen since mid-March, killing and injuring hundreds of civilians. US attacks on Yemen resumed on March 15 after President Donald Trump ordered the military to launch a “major assault” on Houthi forces threatening to “wipe them out completely.” The Houthi group, however, defied the threats and continued to launch missiles and drones at Israeli targets and ships bound for Israel in the Red Sea in retaliation for Israel’s ongoing assault on Palestinians in Gaza.
