Artist carves Indian cricket star portrait into leaf
An artist carved an Indian cricket star's portrait into a leaf.
Sand artist Madhurendra Kumar created a unique portrait of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, a cricket prodigy, on the green peepal leaf in Bihar, India, on April 30.
The intricate silhouette of the young batsman was etched into the leaf, with the message 'Bihari Babu Big Congratulations Suryavanshi' displayed alongside it.
Madhurendra Kumar, known for his sand art, expressed his concern for the youth of today, saying: 'In today's environment, many children between the ages of 7 to 18-20 are becoming victims of substances like cigarettes, alcohol, and solutions. This is the age to build a career, not waste it on such harmful habits. Vaibhav's example should inspire young people to move forward and pursue their goals.'
Suryavanshi recently made headlines for his record-breaking performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
On April 28, during a match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT), the teenager became the fastest Indian player to score a century in T20 cricket, achieving the milestone in just 35 balls.
Madhurendra Kumar is an internationally acclaimed sand artist and winner of several international sand art festivals.
