The US Coast Guard intercepted a suspected narco boat in the Eastern Pacific during a patrol operation.

Dramatic footage shows the crew of USCGC Kimball (WMSL 756) rapidly approaching an alleged drug-smuggling vessel on Thursday, April 17.

As authorities arrived, the suspects quickly lay face down on the deck in apparent surrender. Several bales of suspected narcotics were also visible in the watercraft.

The Coast Guard said: 'Drug trafficking poses a dangerous threat to the American people, and the men and women of the Coast Guard do everything in their power to interdict drugs before they reach our shores.'

The USCGC Kimball is one of two Legend-class national security cutters based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
