Dashcam footage shows a motorist slowing down at a barely visible zebra crossing to allow two walkers to cross in Moscow, Russia, on April 30.

Suddenly, an electric scooter carrying three individuals, while a fourth balances on the shoulders of the middle rider, enters from the left and swiftly crosses the intersection before disappearing from view.

Local authorities are reportedly investigating the incident to identify those involved and determine any potential violations of traffic safety laws.

The event has renewed concerns over electric scooter safety in Russia.

Dmitry Mitroshin, head of the Scientific Centre for Road Safety under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, said that deaths involving electric scooters and similar devices increased by over 25 per cent in 2024, with the majority of fatalities reported in Moscow and the Krasnodar Territory.
