Animal rescuers had to dismantle parts of a fried banana vendor's motorcycle to extract a green snake hiding inside.

Bike owner Meuk, 48, parked on the pavement selling fried bananas, potatoes, and sweet potato balls in Ang Thong, Thailand.

However, a customer spotted the 4ft serpent slithering on the engine of the two-wheeler.

Footage shows rescue volunteer Ratha Tapianthong searching for the animal in the vehicle.

They had to remove parts of the frame, driver's seat and some wires to safely pull the snake.

Meuk said: 'A buyer informed me about the snake. When I turned my head, I only saw its tail.'

They kept knocking on the motorbike,e but it only sent the snake slithering further inside.

The rescue team spent almost half an hour disassembling the vehicle until they successfully removed it.

They took the animal with them to be released later in the wild.
