Baby elephant kisses Japanese tourist with her trunk
A friendly baby elephant played with a Japanese tourist, kissing her on the cheek with her trunk.
Footage shows four-year-old tusker named Khamkaew coiling her trunk around the holidaymaker who hugged her in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand.
Khamkaew sniffed the guest's face and picked up a hat on the ground, which she put on the foreigner's head.
She then swayed her head as the woman applauded her for performing the tricks on April 13.
Elephants are Thailand's national animal and an important part of its culture and history. In the past, they were used for farming, logging, and even fighting wars.
Some elephants still live in the wild, but many are in captivity, working in tourism or living in sanctuaries. Because logging was banned and tourism has changed, many elephants are now kept in sanctuaries where they are protected and cared for.
