A van suddenly burst into flames at a petrol station before rolling away as the driver pushed it.

Footage shows the vehicle being engulfed by a blaze beside the pump area in Albay, the Philippines.

The inferno spread to the roof along with the dispenser area, with motorists rushing to flee.

However, the car slid downwards as the owner pushed it towards the slope before fleeing with his passengers.

No one was hurt and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Motorcycle rider Joshua Tena said: 'I passed by Phoenix Gas Station when it happened. We all stopped. It looked very dangerous.

'I think it was caused by faulty wiring, but we are not sure. No one was hurt.'

Firefighters successfully controlled the fire, which did not spread to other establishments.
