Bakersfield, United States - May 06, 2025 05/05/2025 07:00 pm GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – On Monday evening, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), a SWAT team, crisis negotiators, and a bomb squad, responded to an undisclosed situation in the 100 block of Ray Street in Oildale. Witnesses reported that a suspect fired multiple rounds toward officers. In response, law enforcement established a significant presence in the area and began a standoff with the individual involved. Officers deployed several rounds of tear gas into the residence, advising nearby residents to shelter in place. As of now, it remains unclear if there are any injuries.
