This is the heartwarming moment a kitten trapped behind an electrical socket was rescued in China.

Staff at a gadget store in Ningxia heard faint meowing coming from inside one of the building's concrete pillars on May 5.

Alarmed workers searched the walls and eventually discovered the tiny cat wedged behind the outlet.

Footage shows a woman gently pulling on the feline's leg in an attempt to free it, but she paused, worried about hurting the animal.

Moments later, the kitten shifted its position, poking its head through the hole. The rescuer then carefully tugged it out to safety.

The woman beamed at the camera while cradling the kitten in her arms, celebrating the successful rescue.

The kitten was reportedly unharmed and was later adopted by its rescuer.
