Bakersfield, United States - May 06, 2025 05/06/2025 07:00 am GMT-0700 BAKERSFILED, Calif. – On Monday evening, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), a SWAT team, crisis negotiators, and a bomb squad, responded to a situation in the 100 block of Ray Street in Oildale. Witnesses reported that a suspect fired multiple rounds toward officers. In response, law enforcement established a significant presence in the area and began a standoff with the individual. Officers deployed several rounds of tear gas into the residence and advised nearby residents to shelter in place. Currently, it remains unclear if there are any injuries. Part 2: The suspect fled the residence in front of SWAT during the shift change and ended up running to a property on Bedford and East Linda Vista. SWAT and police relocated to the new area, located the suspect very quickly with a drone and the help of Air 1, moved in, and arrested the suspect without incident.
