BRADENTON, Fla. — A routine bicycle patrol turned into a scenic surprise Thursday morning when Officer Poulos of the Bradenton Police Department spotted a playful pod of dolphins along the city’s Riverwalk.

The encounter happened during his morning ride, momentarily pausing his patrol as the dolphins swam nearby. The department shared the moment on social media, calling it a “perfect way to start the day.”

Bradenton’s Riverwalk, which stretches along the Manatee River, is known for its wildlife and waterfront views, offering occasional glimpses of marine life like manatees and dolphins.

The department said moments like these highlight the unique connection between community policing and the natural environment in coastal Florida.
