This is the shocking moment a training jet's landing gear collapsed while touching down in Malaysia.

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Hawk-208 fighter jet experienced a nose landing gear failure while arriving at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport in Alor Setar, Kedah on May 6.

The aircraft was reportedly conducting a training exercise in preparation for the opening event of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025.

Footage shows the jet bouncing several times before its front landing gear broke down, causing it to skid on its nose.

The incident took place as part of the ‘Opening Gambit' exercise ahead of the major airshow.

An RMAF spokesperson said in a statement that the pilot, the only occupant of the aircraft, was unharmed and did not sustain any injuries.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the landing gear failure.

The armed forces have assured the public of their ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety of all personnel involved in training exercises.

Officials confirmed that the aircraft was safely cleared from the runway after the incident, causing no further disruption to airport operations.
