A daredevil cat joined his owner at work - perched on his shoulder atop a 15-metre-high tower.

Thoth, a Bengal mix, was securely strapped to owner Ivan Kuznetsov, 37, as the pair climbed a support tower at a cable car construction site.

Footage shows Thoth calmly perched on Ivan's shoulders as he ascends a staircase to the top of the structure before descending via a cable rope.

The seven-month-old feline hates being left home alone and insists on tagging along whenever he can – even to dizzying heights.

Ivan, a ropeway repair and maintenance mechanic from Arsenyev, Russia, said: "Thoth really dislikes staying at home alone."

"He gets bored and tries to jump on my shoulders to come with me. "

"So when the chance came to take him to the site, I did."

The little feline was securely strapped into a harness attached to Ivan's own safety system and rode on his shoulders throughout the hour-long visit.

Ivan said: "There was no fear."

"Thoth has been used to sitting on my shoulders since he was a kitten. "

"He feels confident and safe there. "

"At first, he sniffed around and checked things out, but after 15 minutes on the support tower, he looked as comfortable as if he was on the couch at home."

Thoth explored the cable car support, wandered through the bypass station, sat in a cabin and even joined the team during a simulated passenger evacuation.

Ivan said: "He was calm, admired the views and blinked in the sunlight. "

"He didn't look scared at all – just curious, as always."
