Three explosions hit buildings near the airport in Lahore, Pakistan, amid the escalated conflict with India.

The blasts were heard on Thursday morning, May 8, prompting local authorities to establish a security cordon and seal off the area.

The shockwaves were reportedly detected in quick succession in the Gopal Nagar and Naseerabad areas near Walton Airport.

Footage shows smoke rising from a building, with sirens heard in the background.

Preliminary reports suggest that the explosions occurred during a training exercise of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

The Indian government confirmed the launch of 'Operation Sindoor', targeting nine locations in Pakistan, with at least 24 missiles fired at 1:30 am on Wednesday.

Pakistani officials reported at least 31 deaths and more than 57 injuries in the strikes. The missiles reportedly hit locations in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and the eastern Punjab province.

In response, Pakistan launched intense shelling across the border into northern India just hours later.

At least 12 civilians were reported dead, and dozens more were injured in the shelling, which struck multiple areas, including Bhimber Gali and Karnah in Jammu and Kashmir.

Authorities confirmed that the Pakistan military opened fire along both the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border, triggering panic in several border villages.

The strikes followed a terror attack in Kashmir on April 22, which resulted in 26 deaths. The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow group of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Intelligence sources suggest the assailants may have crossed over from Kishtwar via Kokernag to execute the planned strike.
