Xi arrived in the capital Moscow to attend the May 9 Victory Day events. During the talks, the two leaders are expected to focus on the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline project, Ukrainian issues, and the relationship between Russia and the US. Putin made a speech during the meeting. "Most importantly, President Xi and I share our assessment of the progress across the entire spectrum of our relations achieved in recent years. They are a model of interstate relations in the 21st century and are based on equality, mutual benefit, and respect for interests and sovereignty of both countries, without aiming to work against anyone." Putin said. Two joint statements are planned following the negotiations. Additionally, a package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents will be signed.
