GAZA, PALESTINE - MAY 8, 2025: Israeli airstrikes on Thursday, May 8, killed six Palestinians, including children, in central Gaza’s Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah, according to medical sources. The wounded were transferred to Al-Awda Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of those killed were taken to the hospital's morgue. In a separate series of airstrikes, the Israeli military killed at least 16 more Palestinians on Thursday, one day after it killed 100 Palestinians in a 24-hour period, according to medics. Among these attacks, a Palestinian was killed, and several injured in Israeli shelling of the Shujaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, the source added. In another attack, an Israeli drone killed three more Palestinians in the Al-Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City. The official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, citing medical sources, said five victims were also killed in an airstrike on a home in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza. It added that rescue teams are struggling to rescue a woman from the rubble of the struck home. Separately, a Palestinian girl was killed and four others were injured in Israeli artillery shelling of tents hosting displaced people in the western Khan Younis city in southern Gaza. Local sources reported that two fishermen were also injured by Israeli navy fire off the coast of Khan Younis. Meanwhile, the Israeli army continued to blow up Palestinian homes and buildings in southern Rafah city and the eastern areas of Gaza City. The deadly attacks come a day after Israel killed 100 Palestinians in a 24-hour period in strikes across the war-devastated enclave. The Israeli army has launched a brutal military onslaught on Gaza, killing nearly 52,800 people, mostly women and children, since Oct. 7, 2023. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave. Reporting by Fadel A. A. Almaghari // Writing by Mustafa Tuncer
