A tourist burst into tears when kind strangers sang her a song while celebrating alone on a beach.

Elika Sarraga brought a small cake, a candle, and a rose for her 22nd special day in Bantayan Island with no one to party with in Cebu, the Philippines.

However, locals and other visitors noticed how she was by herself and gave her well wishes along with a merry song.

Footage shows Elika setting up her simple occasion. An elderly vendor smiled at her as she was trying to light up her candle.

Soon after, more islanders saw her by the shore and cheered and serenaded her.

The youngster turned emotional and wiped her tears with her shirt before a second group of locals came by to greet her.

A kind stranger said: 'Hi, is it your birthday? Are you alone?'

He sang with his friend and she thanked them.

He added: 'How old are you? You are still very young. If you have problems, they will pass, you will be fine. Be happy.'

Elika enjoyed her cake and rose, spending time with the beautiful view of the beach.
