VE Day 80th anniversary wreath laying ceremony at the royal British Legion Memorial Forest adjacent to Nansledan School, Cornwall. The King is represented by Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho as the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall. He served with the Grenadier Guards all over the world and commanded the 1st Battalion in 1993-1995, during which time he was awarded the OBE. He was later Regimental Lieutenant Colonel and, until 2017, a Regimental Trustee. He became a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO) in the New Year’s Honours list 2024. After poetry from veterans, Wreaths were laid by RAF, Royal Navy, Army, National Health, and Royal British Legion representatives. A Bugler from the Light Infantry sounds the Last Post.
